Through the DBI lense

On reading and researching the education in South Africa, one can become very despondent as we seldom see much positivity surrounding it.  However, we do find some little gems out there in the education world that once again feed our soul and make us proud South Africans.  Such as teachers who have taken their commitment seriously, taking time and effort into their classrooms by using our modern day technology to keep students excited and motivated,  like taking a computer lesson to Blog or Twitter and get involved in the community, eg a class that began to teach the elderley at an old age home how to blog and keep abreast of the modern movement.  This class gets the benefit of doing something they love and are great at, but at the same time they are teaching members of the community how to stay abreast of modern times. Teachers administering projects that invlove using cell phones.  What better way to get your class to be enthusiastic about a project.  This is the language of our youth and if our teachers understand this then what a great base to start connecting with their learners.
